G'day Parks Ararat is situated on the outskirts of the historic gold-mining town of Ararat, Victoria. Its central location means it’s the perfect place for those looking to spend time exploring the nearby Grampians National Park and the renowned Pyrenees wine region.
Just five minutes from Ararat CBD and set amongst native bushland, G'day Parks Ararat offers visitors the chance to relax after a day exploring the surrounding region. The park’s location is approximately an hour from Ballarat and two and a half hours from Melbourne.
Accommodation options include ensuite, powered, and unpowered caravan sites. And if you’re looking to find cabin accommodation in Ararat, guests at G'day Parks Ararat can choose from deluxe two and three-bedroom ensuite cabins, budget cabins and units. Each feature reverse cycle air-conditioning, cooking facilities, TV, microwave, and all linen supplied, and there are even some dog-friendly cabins too.
Guests can take advantage of the huge camp kitchen, free BBQs, laundry, seasonal swimming pool (December to April) and a great playground for the kids. Visit the kiosk/store for a small range of essentials and snack foods, check out the tour desk for tours and attractions in the area, and hook up to the park-wide wifi. There’s also a dump point for those with RVs.
Outside the park the region spoils visitors with options to suit hikers, history buffs, and wine enthusiasts.
To the west, the Grampians National Park entices walkers of all levels to discover this iconic mountain region with spectacular panoramic views. Halls Gap in the heart of the Grampians is an excellent spot for lunch or coffee between walks.
To the northeast, the Pyrenees wine region welcomes visitors with cellar doors and quality award-winning red wines. If bubbles are more your thing, head over to Great Western and discover some of Australia’s best sparkling wines.
In Ararat itself, the township oozes history. Formerly a gold mining town, the buildings reflect the prosperity of a
bygone era with many buildings dating back to the late 1800s. There are historical museums, parks and gardens, galleries, lookouts, former prisons and lunatic asylums, and a Chinese Heritage Centre. The town also has a vibrant dining scene with restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaway options. Take some time to explore this incredible part of Victoria.
